Ortigia Sicilia Tray: Giraffe, 6x6 - Green

A small square Italian lacquered-wood tray in Ortigia Sicilia's Giraffe pattern on a green ground — giraffes, flamingos, tropical birds, and Ortigia's signature black panther set in lush botanical foliage, framed by the house's black-and-white geometric border. Made in Italy using traditional lacquer techniques.

The tray measures 6" × 6", built of lacquered wood (not ceramic) and finished with a high-gloss surface. Each piece is hand-finished, so small differences in lacquer depth and color saturation are part of the look. Wipe-clean and sturdy enough for daily use.

At this size it works as a vanity or dresser tray for jewelry, keys, and perfume, a catch-all by the door, or a small styled accent on a desk or side table. It also reads well alongside the larger Ortigia rounds — the 16" and 21" Jungle trays — if you want the same pattern language at two scales. Ortigia Sicilia was featured in HBO's The White Lotus, filmed at Sicily's San Domenico Palace in Taormina, where the line is also sold.

What actually fits on a 6" × 6" tray?
Rings and earrings, a watch, keys, one or two perfume bottles, a small candle, or a stack of business cards. It's a vanity and entryway size, not a serving size.

Is this wood or ceramic?
Lacquered wood — not Biordi's typical hand-painted ceramic. Light, high-gloss, wipe-clean.

Can I put food on it?
Fine for dry finger foods and an espresso cup. Don't cut on it or leave very wet food in long direct contact.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No — lacquered wood is wipe-clean only.

How does the Giraffe pattern differ from the Jungle Safari pattern?
Both are Ortigia wildlife designs. Giraffe leads with giraffes, flamingos, and tropical birds on green; Jungle Safari leads with zebras, leopards, and toucans and comes on black, red, and yellow grounds.

Where is it made?
In Italy, by Ortigia Sicilia — founded in Sicily in 2006 by Sue Townsend.

Was it really in The White Lotus?
Yes — the Ortigia Sicilia line was featured on screen and is sold at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina.

Is this a good Italian wedding gift?

Customization and personalization are available on select pieces. Eugenio Ricciarelli, FIMA, Pia Formato, Geribi, and CF Deruta accept special orders — a name, date, or occasion painted on the piece, or a different size or shape in the workshop's existing pattern. Giraffe — one of Ortigia Sicilia's wildlife patterns, built on the house's tropical-Sicilian visual language: saturated ground color, dense botanical foliage, exotic animals, and the black-and-white geometric border that runs through the collection.

Ortigia Sicilia — Siracusa, Sicily — a privately owned Italian soap, scent, and home company founded in Sicily in 2006 by Sue Townsend. The range is formulated and designed using materials and motifs indigenous to Sicily, drawing on the aesthetics, colours and scents of Italy's most historic and tropical region.

The name Ortigia comes from the small island at the edge of the ancient fortified city of Siracusa, on Sicily's southeastern coast. The streets of Ortigia are crumbling baroque façades of great splendour looking out on three sides to the sea, and the Piazza del Duomo is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. This part of the island is known as "la Sicilia Orientale" for its proximity to Africa and almost tropical climate.

Sicily carries a colourful history of conquest, invasion and assimilation — Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Aragonese and Bourbons all left their mark. That layered culture inspired the creation of the Ortigia range.
