How do I know you have received and confirmed my order?
An email confirmation is sent to you once an order is placed. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us at email@example.com or (415) 392-8096.
How do I pay for my purchase?
We accept all major payment types including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Biordi Art Imports Gift Cards. In the store we also accept cash payments.
When is my credit card charged?
Your credit card is charged when order is placed. Due to the hand-crafted nature of the product, all product is must be paid for when ordered.
Can I purchase a Gift Certificate?

Do you have a Gift Registry?
Yes! We have a Gift Registry for every occasion, Weddings, Bridal Showers, Birthday’s, Christmas or Housewarming gifts. We offer a personalized, special Gift Registry Experience for the couple registering for their marriage. To learn more about our gift registry click here .
If I purchase a gift, how is it presented?
The Biordi Art Imports gifting experience is exceptional. We use the same Florentine Paper we have used for decades. And now, each gift is wrapped with our new branded satin ribbon, and is $5.00 per gift. We also offer a Signature Gift Box for $10.00 to escalate the entire gifting experience. Certain items do not qualify for gift boxing due to the size and weight. A personalized gift card is included with every gift and a gift message is offered free of charge with any order. We do not ship any gifts with pricing information on the product or packing slip.
We want your gift recipient to have a breathtaking experience when they receive your gift, from the gift wrap to the hand-crafted gift inside.
How do I handle multiple gifts on one order?

What does is it cost to ship an order from Biordi Art Imports?
Every item at Biordi is fragile and requires special shipping and handling to ensure that your order arrives to you safely. After 75 years, we have best practices in packaging perfected. The cost is minimal, on average 10% of your order for ground shipping. For more information on shipping click here
What carrier do you use to ship?
Most of our orders are shipped using UPS. Occasionally, USPS is used to ship to some destinations.
How will I know my order has shipped?
You will receive an email with tracking information from UPS. You can use that information to track your package to delivery.
Once I place an order, how long will it take to arrive?
We strive to ship out every order within 24 hours of order confirmation, excluding weekends and holidays, as long as the item is in stock. Shipping generally takes 2 – 7 business days within the U.S., though can take up to several weeks during the peak holiday season. Special orders and back-orders are the exception. As every product is hand-crafted, these items can take from 2 – 6 months to arrive depending upon the artisan.
Are shipments insured?
All shipments from Biordi Art Imports are insured. If there is ever a problem, contact us and we will assist in the resolution. Please know, we have very few issues with broken or lost shipments, but in case there is a problem, you are covered.

Care for Biordi Art Import Products
How do I care for my hand-crafted Italian ceramics?
Italian ceramics purchased from Biordi can last a lifetime with proper care. They are hand-crafted and heirloom quality. Given this, it should be handled with care, but please enjoy the use of it. For information about the care of our ceramic products, click here
Can my broken or chipped ceramics be fixed?
We offer ceramic repairs, though not all ceramics can be repaired. Please bring in or ship all pieces that are cracked, and do not try and fix the ceramics yourself. Once another adhesive is used we cannot repair your ceramics. There are small hairline cracks in my ceramics, is it safe to use?
Yes, as long as there are only cracks in the glaze. This is called crazing, which is a cracking of the glaze often caused by the ceramics being exposed to higher heat.
Are the Italian hand-crafted dinnerware and mugs dishwasher, oven and/or microwave safe?
Italian ceramics, majolica, is dishwasher safe, but many people choose to hand wash their pieces as a precaution. Because majolica is a porous material, some pieces are not meant to hold liquid for a long period of time.
The hand-crafted products should not be microwaved or placed in a hot oven, as it may crack and break the piece of ceramics. For more information on how to care for your ceramics, click here

Are the products food safe?
All Dinnerware products from Biordi Art Imports are guaranteed to be 100% food safe and comply with FDA standards and the U.S. import regulations for lead and cadmium. Most Home Décor products are not meant for food and do not have the same standards.
Can I personalize a product with a name or date?
Yes! As every piece of Biordi Art Imports products are hand-crafted for us, we are able to personalize most products we offer at Biordi’s. Personalizing a Platter, bowl or plates is a very special unforgettable gift. Personalization is available on our website or meet us at our flagship store or order this special item. Please note that due to the hand-crafted nature of the products, delivery can take 2 – 6 months depending upon the artisan.
Can I customize or a product?
We are able to customize a special product just for you. Either bring into our flagship store, or send us an image of what you are looking for, and we will be able to work with one of our talented artisans to customize a product for you. What makes products from Biordi Art Imports different from Italian ceramics in other stores or websites?
Our products are the highest quality hand-crafted ceramics imported directly from Italy. They are authentic Italian Majolica produced by artisan families we have been working with for decades. Each product from Biordi Art Imports is art, crafted by artisans, never mass produced. Some stores use decals rather it being hand-painted. You can tell the difference, as all hand-crafted items are perfectly imperfect, and all slightly different, because of the hand-crafted nature of each piece.
How do I tell if ceramics from Italy are authentic or mass produced reproductions?
There are several ways you can tell if Italian ceramics are authentic. Hand-crafted imported ceramics from Italy are typically more expensive and have a higher value than the alternative. That is because each piece is made by hand and imported from Italy. That takes time.
When comparing a hand-crafted item, you will see imperfections, perfectly imperfect, as each piece is a unique piece of art. If the product is too perfect then it probably is mass produced. You will see brush strokes and slight inconsistencies in colorations. That is the beauty of a hand-made product.
Most of our artisans sign their work so you can be assured they are made by true artisans.
If a product is on back-order, how long will it take to receive it?
Every item from Biordi Art Imports is hand-crafted especially for us. Nothing is mass produced. Our artisans are families and in some cases individuals who can only produce a finite numbers of pieces. A back-order can take 1 – 6 months depending upon the artisan. We are working with our artisans to have a constant flow of products, to minimize the timing, however, beware that the time can be longer than expected at times. We want you to be totally satisfied with your experience at Biordi, and want to ensure you understand the hand-crafted nature of every product we sell. The Biordi Marketplace will feature pre-owned Italian Majolica. Once authenticated, and approved, your ceramics may be offered on line or in the retail store. Can I return a product that I purchased or was a gift?
Any product purchased from Biordi Art Imports can be returned within 90 days. For more information click here
How do I handle a product return?
Contact us at email@example.com or (415)392-8096. We will issue a return sticker for the items you want to return if there is a problem with the order or shipment. If you choose to return the product because you no longer want it, you will be responsible to pay for the return. Please pack carefully in the same packaging the item was shipped in, include the packing list and contact information and insure the shipment. Once your order has been received, we will issue a refund or credit.
