Ortigia Sicilia Bergamotto eau de parfum, 30ml — created in Sicily using pure bergamot essential oil extracted from the fresh leaves and zest of Citrus aurantium amara bergamia. Lively, green and invigorating.

The composition is a straight citrus-aromatic: crisp, zesty bergamot at the top and heart, with lightly green, slightly spicy-aromatic nuances underneath giving it more staying power than a simple cologne. Unisex, and the Ortigia scent most men choose.

What does Bergamotto smell like?
Crisp, zesty bergamot — green and effervescent, with a light spiced-aromatic edge. Fresh rather than sweet.

Is it unisex?
Yes. It's the most unisex fragrance in the Ortigia range.

How is the 30ml eau de parfum different from the 10ml roll-on?
Same fragrance. The eau de parfum is a spray in a larger flacon; the roll-on is a compact 10ml you apply directly to the skin, with a closer, quieter projection.

How long does it last on skin?
It's a citrus-led composition, so the opening is bright and the aromatic base carries it longer than a pure cologne would. Expect to reapply during a long day.

Where does the bergamot come from?
Southern Italy — pressed from the leaves and zest of the bergamot tree.

Can I layer it?
Yes — with the matching Bergamotto hand cream or candle.

Is this a good Italian wedding gift?

Bergamotto — bergamot, the citrus grown in southern Italy and pressed from leaf and zest. In the Ortigia range it is the green, unisex citrus, made as eau de parfum, roll-on, hand cream and candle.

Ortigia Sicilia — Siracusa, Sicily — a privately owned Italian soap and scent company founded in Sicily in 2006 by Sue Townsend. The range is formulated using natural products indigenous to Sicily and inspired by the aesthetics, colours and scents of Italy's most historic and tropical region. All Ortigia products are made by small family companies; the decorative packaging is designed by Sue Townsend.

The name Ortigia comes from the small island at the edge of the ancient fortified city of Siracusa, on Sicily's southeastern coast. The streets of Ortigia are crumbling baroque façades of great splendour looking out on three sides to the sea, and the Piazza del Duomo is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. This part of the island is known as "la Sicilia Orientale" for its proximity to Africa and almost tropical climate.

Sicily carries a colourful history of conquest, invasion and assimilation — Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Aragonese and Bourbons all left their mark. That layered culture inspired the creation of the Ortigia range.
