Mini Christmas Tree - Real Gold & Pink

A hand-painted Italian mini Christmas tree in soft pink with real gold paint accents, made in Deruta by Ceramiche Favaroni Carlo (CF Deruta). Solid construction, hand-painted by a single artisan, so no two are exactly alike. The pink-and-gold colorway is the most modern of the CF Deruta mini-tree lineup — less overtly holiday red than the traditional variants, more at home with a contemporary, neutral table.

Measuring 5" wide by 4" tall and made of hand-painted majolica (tin-glazed earthenware), with real gold paint detail fired into the glaze. Small variations in color, gold coverage, and shape are signs of authentic hand-painting, not defects.

Use it as a holiday tabletop centerpiece, on a mantel, in a powder room, or as a year-round Italian-ceramic accent (the pink-and-gold reads as decorative rather than strictly Christmas). Does it hold a candle?
No — the mini-tree is solid. The CF Deruta Christmas Tree Tea Light (8" x 6") is the candle-holder version.

How big is it?

Is the gold real gold?
Yes — CF Deruta uses real gold paint applied by hand and fired into the glaze.

Is this still a Christmas piece, or can I use it year-round?
It's marketed for the holidays but the soft pink and gold palette reads as decorative rather than strictly Christmas — many customers leave it out year-round.

Is it hand-painted in Italy?
Yes. Each piece is hand-painted by a single artisan at the Ceramiche Favaroni Carlo workshop in Deruta, Italy.

Can it go in the dishwasher?
No — decorative ceramic with real gold paint. Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth.

Can this be customized or personalized?
Customization and personalization are available on select pieces. Eugenio Ricciarelli, FIMA, Pia Formato, Geribi, and CF Deruta accept special orders — a name, date, or occasion painted on the piece, or a different size or shape in the workshop's existing pattern. Ceramiche Favaroni Carlo is located in the old town in Deruta. Artisans for decades, this family owned business creates unique hand-painted Italian ceramics. Since the 1940s, Mr. Salvatore Favaroni has painted in various Deruta factories, creating inspired works following local traditions. In the 1970’s, Mr. Favaroni opened his own laboratory called “Ceramiche Favaroni Deruta” with decorations of flowers, landscape & Castelli characterizing the production. Salvatore’s son Carlo now runs the family business, called “CF DERUTA.” Today the production of classic decorations brings traditional designs back to the contemporary in colors and shapes. CF Deruta produces exceptional holiday décor for Biordi Art Imports.

Italian ceramics are heirloom quality products, and can last lifetime with proper care. We have some suggestions that will preserve your majolica for years to come.

Majolica is dishwasher safe, but many people choose to hand wash their pieces as a precaution. Because majolica is a porous material, some pieces are not meant to hold liquid for a long period of time. Check for warning labels before ordering a product, as the pieces that are most notorious for "sweating" are appropriately labeled.

Majolica is sensitive to extreme temperatures, specifically boiling or freezing liquids. Pouring water with a rolling boil directly into a teapot, for example, may lead to breakage. To avoid this, temper the object. The industry standard is 620 degrees Celsius (1,148 degrees Fahrenheit). Quench the glass to cool it.

Crazing is common in well used majolica. The tiny cracks in the glaze do not affect the functionality of your majolica.

Majolica hand-crafted products should not be microwaved, as it may crack and/or break the ceramics.
