DESCRIPTION
The perfect gift box for the Italiophile in your life, a hand-painted ceramic oil bottle by our artisan CF Deruta paired with Frantoio Rinalducci Extra Virgin Olive Oil EVVO.
Rinalducci Oil is produced from green and black olives, processed in the middle period of the season of the harvest, cold extracted, smooth and balanced taste, with hints of fresh olive.
The olives are harvested and processed within 24-48 hours. They are first defoliated and washed, then they are double crushed – the first crusher is with discs and the other with knives. Without undergoing oxygenation changes, they are passed into the kneaders to be worked for about 35 minutes at controlled temperature. No water is added, in fact we work with a two-phase cold extraction system.
In this way,we have an excellent quality of olive oil, rich in values and vitamins necessary for a healthy diet.
ARTISAN STORY
ARTISAN STORY
Everything started back in 1987 when Giovanni Luigi Rinalducci, the owner of a large olive groove, decided that he needed to start producing his own olive oil and then transformed this activity into a real job.
By tradition, in those days, families would help each other in the fields, and olive picking was an occasion of conviviality that ended in the mill, with a bruschetta around the fireplace.
At the end of the 1940s, the family son Emilio returns home after a long imprisonment in a war camp to continue the family tradition. However, he goes a step further. He acquires a cold pressing-extraction plant and starts working for third parties.
The Mill Today
Today, it is Giovanni Rinalducci who is pursuing the family tradition and transmitting his experience, know-how, and passion for his land to his daughter and son.
Recent investments have been directed to develop an oletourism branch, creating appropriate premises for guided tours and olive oil tasting.
The Rinalducci family has always been striving to enhance the excellence of our products.
Rinalducci is amidst the hills of Gualdo Cattaneo, in the green heart of Umbria. Here, we select the best qualities of olives – belonging to the Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino varieties – to deliver the ancient authenticity of our extra-virgin olive oil to your table.
The Olives are scrupulously selected, hand-picked or with the aid of mechanical facilitators, and harvested at the beginning of the season, when they are still unripe to ensure that the original and authentic characteristics of the fruity oil flavour are maintained.
The Rinalducci extra-virgin olive oil is a healthy and natural nourishment, a cornerstone of a true Mediterranean diet.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Italian ceramics are heirloom quality products, and can last lifetime with proper care. We have some suggestions that will preserve your majolica for years to come.
Majolica is dishwasher safe, but many people choose to hand wash their pieces as a precaution. Because majolica is a porous material, some pieces are not meant to hold liquid for a long period of time. Check for warning labels before ordering a product, as the pieces that are most notorious for "sweating" are appropriately labeled.
Majolica is sensitive to extreme temperatures, specifically boiling or freezing liquids. Pouring water with a rolling boil directly into a teapot, for example, may lead to breakage. To avoid this, temper the object. The industry standard is 620 degrees Celsius (1,148 degrees Fahrenheit). Quench the glass to cool it.
Crazing is common in well used majolica. The tiny cracks in the glaze do not affect the functionality of your majolica.
Majolica hand-crafted products should not be microwaved, as it may crack and/or break the ceramics.
