Christmas Tree Light - Real Gold & Gold

A hand-painted Italian Christmas tree tea light in the gold-on-gold colorway, made in Deruta by Ceramiche Favaroni Carlo (CF Deruta). The tree's cut-out stars hold a votive candle inside; lit, the flame projects star-shaped light through the openings. This version is hand-painted in a warm gold-tone base with real gold paint detail — a quieter, more monochrome alternative to the gold-and-green version, reading as luxe and contemporary rather than overtly festive.

Measuring 8" wide by 6" tall and made of hand-painted majolica (tin-glazed earthenware) with real gold paint. This is the larger tree-light format with the candle cavity, distinct from the 5" solid mini-tree. Small variations in color, gold coverage, and shape are signs of authentic hand-painting, not defects. Votive candle not included.

Use it as a holiday or winter tabletop centerpiece, on a mantel, or as a layered accent piece for year-round Italian-ceramic styling (the all-gold palette reads as decorative rather than strictly Christmas). How is this different from the Gold & Green tree light?
Same shape, same workshop, same candle function. The Gold & Green has a contrasting green base; this gold-on-gold version is monochrome, reading quieter and more contemporary.

Does it come with a candle?
No. The votive candle pictured is for illustration. Any standard tea light or small votive fits.

Is it safe with an open flame?
Yes — designed as a tea-light holder. Standard candle safety applies: heat-safe surface, never leave unattended, keep clear of flammables.

Is the gold real gold?
Yes — CF Deruta uses real gold paint applied by hand and fired into the glaze.

Can I use it year-round?
Many customers do. The all-gold palette is less explicitly Christmas than the Gold & Green or Red & Green pieces.

Can it go in the dishwasher?
No — decorative ceramic with real gold paint and an open candle form. Wipe clean.

Is this a good Italian wedding gift?

Can this be customized or personalized?
Customization and personalization are available on select pieces. Eugenio Ricciarelli, FIMA, Pia Formato, Geribi, and CF Deruta accept special orders — a name, date, or occasion painted on the piece, or a different size or shape in the workshop's existing pattern. Ceramiche Favaroni Carlo is located in the old town in Deruta. Artisans for decades, this family owned business creates unique hand-painted Italian ceramics. Since the 1940s, Mr. Salvatore Favaroni has painted in various Deruta factories, creating inspired works following local traditions. In the 1970’s, Mr. Favaroni opened his own laboratory called “Ceramiche Favaroni Deruta” with decorations of flowers, landscape & Castelli characterizing the production. Salvatore’s son Carlo now runs the family business, called “CF DERUTA.” Today the production of classic decorations brings traditional designs back to the contemporary in colors and shapes. CF Deruta produces exceptional holiday décor for Biordi Art Imports.

Italian ceramics are heirloom quality products, and can last lifetime with proper care. We have some suggestions that will preserve your majolica for years to come.

Majolica is dishwasher safe, but many people choose to hand wash their pieces as a precaution. Because majolica is a porous material, some pieces are not meant to hold liquid for a long period of time. Check for warning labels before ordering a product, as the pieces that are most notorious for "sweating" are appropriately labeled.

Majolica is sensitive to extreme temperatures, specifically boiling or freezing liquids. Pouring water with a rolling boil directly into a teapot, for example, may lead to breakage. To avoid this, temper the object. The industry standard is 620 degrees Celsius (1,148 degrees Fahrenheit). Quench the glass to cool it.

Crazing is common in well used majolica. The tiny cracks in the glaze do not affect the functionality of your majolica.

Majolica hand-crafted products should not be microwaved, as it may crack and/or break the ceramics.
