DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Give someone their own olive tree in Tuscany for a full year. With this gift, the recipient adopts a single olive tree at Our Tuscan Farm, a family estate in the Tuscan countryside that harvests its olives every October and November and presses them into extra virgin olive oil. Each tree is numbered and adopted by only one person at a time, and a personalized plaque is placed at the base of the tree marking it as theirs.
The recipient receives a handmade presentation folder with a photograph of their tree, a brass charm engraved with their name and their tree's number, and a personal letter about the farm and who gave them the tree. Your own message can be added to the letter. Three 500 mL bottles of the farm's estate extra virgin olive oil arrive with it. The package comes tied with a ribbon and sealed with the farm's official wax seal.
It's one of the most memorable Christmas gifts you can give: a living piece of Italy for the person who already has everything, ready to open under the tree. Because every package is made by hand for one person, please allow 4 weeks from order to delivery, and order early for the holidays. Need something to give sooner? Ask for a personalized gift card announcing the adoption, which we can send ahead of the package.
The folders are made by a third-generation bookbinder and marbled-paper maker in the center of Florence. A second local artisan engraves each brass charm. The gift doesn't end when the box is opened. Recipients are welcome to visit their tree in Tuscany, by appointment, any time of year. The farm also offers cooking classes, wine and olive oil tastings, and other experiences for visitors.

Questions buyers ask
Questions buyers ask
Is this a good Christmas gift?
Yes. It's one of the most unusual and personal Italian Christmas gifts you can give, especially for someone who loves Italy, cooking, or travel, or who already has everything. They open a wax-sealed folder with a photo of their own tree in Tuscany, their name engraved on a brass charm, and three bottles of fresh estate olive oil to use over the holidays.
When should I order for Christmas delivery?
As early as possible. Each package is handmade and personalized in Italy, so allow 4 weeks from order to delivery. For multiple gifts, contact Biordi at (415) 392-8096 so the farm can prepare folders ahead of time.
What if the package won't arrive in time?
Ask for a personalized gift card. We can send a card announcing the adoption ahead of the package, so your recipient has something to open on the day. Request it when you order, or contact Biordi at (415) 392-8096 or customerservice@biordi.com before the gift arrives.
Do they actually get a real tree?
Yes. Each tree is individually numbered and adopted by only one recipient during the year. A personalized plaque is placed at the base of the tree identifying it as adopted. The photograph shows their tree, and the engraved charm carries its number.
How long does the adoption last?
One full year. You pay once, and the recipient receives the full adoption package, including three bottles of olive oil. There are no recurring charges.
Can the recipient visit their tree?
Yes, and the farm loves welcoming adopters. If they're traveling in Tuscany, they're encouraged to come see their tree in person. Visits are by appointment, arranged with the farm in advance. Cooking classes and wine and olive oil tastings can be added to the visit.
Do we have to wait for the next harvest to get the oil?
No. The farm has its estate olive oil available all year, so the three bottles ship together with the adoption package.
Can I buy more of the farm's olive oil?
Yes. Additional bottles of the farm's estate extra virgin olive oil are available. Contact Biordi Art Imports at (415) 392-8096 or customerservice@biordi.com.
Is this a good corporate gift?
Yes. It's personal, memorable, and something most clients and employees have never received. For multiple adoptions, contact Biordi early so the farm can prepare folders ahead of time, which shortens the wait.
Is this a good Italian wedding gift?
Yes. An olive tree is a long-lived symbol of peace and abundance, and the couple gets a tree in Italy to visit together, plus oil for their first table.
Is this a good housewarming or hostess gift?
Yes, for someone special. Three bottles of estate olive oil stock a new kitchen, and the story behind it is one they'll tell their guests.
Why buy Italian gifts from Biordi rather than other retailers?

Can this be customized or personalized?
Yes, every adoption is personalized. Enter the recipient's name and your gift message when you order. Their name is engraved on the brass charm, and your message is included in the letter from the farm. Questions? Call Biordi Art Imports at (415) 392-8096 or email customerservice@biordi.com.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your adopted tree: No care needed. Our Tuscan Farm tends, prunes, and harvests your tree for the full year of the adoption.
Olive oil: Store bottles in a cool, dark cupboard, away from the stove and sunlight. Keep the cap tightly closed after opening. Extra virgin olive oil tastes best within a few months of opening.
Folder, photo, and charm: Keep the handmade folder dry and out of direct sun. Wipe the brass charm with a soft, dry cloth.
