Deruta Pottery - Siena Pattern

This black and dark red dinnerware on the Maiolica features the figures of a sitting deer. This classic and elegant design on this Deruta ceramics is a reproduction from a 13th century mosaic marble inlay found on the floor of the Siena Cathedral. It is believed that the deer represents the emblem of a prestigious family.
